Never go there unless you are prepared to carry your luggage up 5 floors because of no lift or staff to help you, do not want a decent breakfast, and do not want any room around your bed to move as you have no where else to put your luggage. The shower room was a postage stamp and the floor was dirty. All this for $185 ! Only good thing was ground floor decor and location. Be careful!

    Good Location.

One of the worst hotels at which I have ever stayed. My first room was nicely decorated, but was an inside room with no windows, and six of the nine light bulbs were burned out: both lamps, three of the four ceiling light and one of the three light bulbs in the bathroom. I complained at the desk. The clerk said, “Well, I can move you to 3a, but it’s noisy.” I asked why they didn’t just replace the lights. He said, “No one here can do that.” So I moved to the other room. All the lights worked, and there was a window overlooking the street. But there were no closets in the room, no armoire, not even a rack on the wall to hang up cloths. I had to lay my cloths on the floor. My hotel room was noisy: late into the night I could hear loud music and even conversations on the street, even though my windows were closed. And in the morning I discovered there was no hot water, and no toilet paper in the bathroom. I complained. The clerk said I just had to run the water for 5 - 10 minutes or so and then grudgingly handed me a small roll of toilet paper. Breakfast was supposed to be included. When I sat down in breakfast area I was handed a bowl of cereal. I said I didn’t want cereal. The waiter asked if I would like toast instead. I said yes, and was given a slice of toast and a packet of jelly. After asking, I also got a cup of coffee. Also the web page said that there was complimentary internet in the rooms. There wasn’T.

This hotel is not luxurious but has a great location in the heart of Old San Juan. We only stayed one night before and after a 7-day cruise that left from San Juan. I would not stay at this hotel if I were going on an extended vacation as the amenities were minimal. No pool or beach access. They did offer a complimentary breakfast (toast, bagels, fruit & oatmeal), and had TV's in the rooms, but that was about it for amenities. The a/c did not seem to work very well, but the rooms were not uncomfortably hot, just not cool either. I did love the Moroccan decor and they play the movie Casablanca in the lobby around the clock ..

No elevator, only stairs. Although this did not bother me, if you have heavy luggage or issues that make it hard to climb stairs, I would not recommend staying here.

    Superb

It's beautiful! The room and balcony were great. The bed was ridiculously comfortable, and the A/C plentiful. The staff was very helpful.

The price. It's very steep. We only paid it because we were on on our Honeymoon. We booked with breakfast included, and the details should have been clear. We've traveled plenty, and when only a continental breakfast is included, it says so. The breakfast scenario is weird at the hotel. From 7-9am, a chef can provide you with continental breakfast items at no charge(he has to get it for you from back), or you get a 'reduced' price if you booked with breakfast included for menu items. From 9-11am, there is a continental breakfast set out. Not what we bargained for...I've had better at Holiday Inn.

    Good

    (1) The reception hall (its style), (2) some of the pictures on the wall, (3) friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.

Very very small room (room 3H) with no window (no daylight). But fairly OK if you need to spend a night somewhere.

    Fabulous

Excellent location, pleasant staff, good breakfast, nice decor

Problems with inadequate hot water, carrying suitcases up four floors was harder than I thought and the trip was hard enough without the luggage

Fantastic location and very nice room (Queen Superior). Lots of character at an affordable price.

    No elevator.

    Fabulous

Very friendly stuff and really good breakfast with fresh orange juice.

We booked the Daily Deal for 50$, so that deal was pretty good. But I wouldn't pay 100$ or more.

Its location in Old San Juan

Room cleanliness is poor , me and my wife suffered from itching due to bed bugs ( probably the bed sheets and cover was neither clean nor changed ). I made the reservation on Booked.net 2 months before the stay but the hotel staff/manager did not put the booking on the reservation list until I made many complaints to the cs of Booked.net who called the hotel several times.

No elevator and we were on fifth floor. We were put in a room without bathroom glasses, and with no closet.

    Exceptional

I loved this cute bohemian hotel with a great location! I was blocks away from great restaurants like Raices, La Bombenera, and El Jibarito! I was just a few blocks north? of the Christopher Colon Statue park and across the street is the "bank" from the movie "Assasin" that starred Antonio Banderas and Selma Hayek! I also loved the music they played in the lobby of this hotel. The people working there were helpful and friendly. A previous review stated there was no hot water but this is not true! You need to turn the handle to the left for the hot water. I had great showers and the hot water did not run out! I highly recommend this fun hotel in the middle of Old San Juan.

    Fabulous

A no frills perfect place for us to stay while getting ready to take a cruise out of San Juan. It was a pleasant surprise. I booked four months early and requested a room on the lower level as there is no elevator. When I called the day before, nobody knew about the request. I was annoyed since I had recent foot surgery and was in a walking boot. They did change my room to one on the second floor. Phew, it would have been tough on me! Great location and great visit.

Room was small and bathroom needed updating. Didn't bother me though.
